We aim to plan at least six months ahead for all our litters - as we believe that thoughtful planning is very important when it comes to breeding responsibly.
Our girls are paired once they're 6 months old, and no later than 12 months. We typically do not pair a girl more than once, but if we do it'll be a maximum of two litters. All our boys are over 18 months before we pair them.
As we're breeding for health and temperament first and foremost, and then a secondary focus on our markings line.
Sometimes our plans fail and we will cancel litters before they happen.
Upcoming litters
Feb 2026
Agouti Irish
Expected colours: Black, Agouti and possibility of Black eyed white
Expected markings: Berkshire, Irish, Self and Hood.
Coats: Standard but with a possibility of Carrier & Fluffy
This is an exciting litter - we're having the beautiful Mousey visiting us from Ratbags Rattery in Christchurch. She is being paired to the handome Iggy.
This litter is particularly exciting for us, as it'll be a wonderful addition to our markings lines, as Mousey is unrelated to both our current lines. Bringing new blood into a line is a really sensible decision, especially as both Mousey & Harry have long pedigrees.
Black blaze variberk
Agouti Hood
Expected colours: Black and Agouti
Expected markings: Hoods
Coats: Carriers & Fluffy
This is a litter I've thought a lot about. It will be a good way to introduce new genes into the fluffy lines. While Moths background is a mystery, Jimmy has a pedigree I can date back more than 5 generations.

Cinnamon splitcap
Expected colours: Black, Agouti, Mink, Cinnamon and Black eyed white
Expected markings: Hoods & Berkshires
Coats: Standard
This is SUCH an exciting litter, as both parents have blazes. While Kowhais has moulted out, the genes are still there. This is likely to be the first blaze x blaze rat pairing, so it should be exciting!
Markings wise, this should be cool - lots of variegation, minimal hoods and fingers crossed for blazes.
