For those who are interested in adopting from us, but live in another part of New Zealand, then please read this page in its entirety to find out more information of how it works and what it will cost.
From time to time, we can send rats via pet transport - but this is highly dependant on drop off times as I work full time
Our preference would be to adopt locally, but for the right family we can make pet transport drop offs work.
We exclusively use Swift Small Animal Courier: https://swiftsmallanimalcourier.com/ as their level of care is fantastic and their pricing is very reasonable.
At this stage this is the only pet transport comapany we will use.
Please refer to the Swifts website for up-to-date prices, as they are subject to change.
In order for us to send rats via pet transport, we do charge additional fees for this service.
The pricing for swift is available here: https://swiftsmallanimalcourier.com/ and needs to be paid for and arranged by the adopter.
Additionally, we charge a $50 drop off fee, which is made up of:
Carrier Fee:
This fee is variable, depending on the type of carrier available. I will always try to purchase the cheapest carrier available, which will be the cat carriers from Kmart .
We will let you know what carrier is available and the price.
However, if you have a specific carrier in mind, I'm more than happy to use a different one.
In the carrier it includes a hammock, travel sized water bottle, bowl for food and a cardboard box to hide in.
Drop off Fee:
This is to cover petrol costs, as the drive from our home to the pet transport drop off points is a fair drive away.
